On the day after the election, a British pastor named Luke Harding had a dream about Joe Biden. Based on the interpretation I got from the Lord, the dream contains an urgent call to the church.

In the dream, Luke Harding was in what he describes as “a place of worship” when Joe Biden walked in with a group of people. There was a dark jacket off to the side, and Biden wanted it. “I’d like to borrow it,” he said. “I’ll bring it back.”

Harding says he knew Biden would not bring the jacket back and that “it wasn’t his to take.” So he replied, “You’re going to have to pay for it. This will cost.”

And there the dream ended. Harding did not know whether Biden took the jacket or not.

THE MEANING OF THE JACKET
As Harding rightly notes, in the language of dream interpretation a jacket represents authority. The biblical term, mantle, is mostly used figuratively — as in “the mantle of leadership.”

The Hebrew word for mantle, addereth, which figuratively refers to glory, appears twelve times in the Old Testament. This itself is significant, because in the Bible the number twelve represents government and authority. I have explored this further in this video.

Addereth is most famously associated with Elijah’s mantle. When the prophet sees Elisha, he throws his mantle upon him, thus declaring that Elisha will succeed him according to the word of the Lord (1 Kings 19:16-19).

After Elijah is taken to heaven in the chariot of fire, Elisha picks up the mantle that fell from the departing prophet. This act is both literal and symbolic, for by picking up Elijah’s mantle, Elisha is taking his position as Israel’s prophet (2 Kings 2:14).

THE CALL OF THE JACKET
The jacket that Joe Biden wanted in Luke Harding’s dream is the mantle of the US presidency. As a pastor and intercessor, Harding represents the body of Christ. Just as he was “in a place of worship” in the dream, we are to be worshipping and praying at this time.

The fact that Joe Biden had to ask Luke Harding for the jacket is also significant. I believe it means that the people of God are to guard the mantle of the next presidency through prayer, to make sure it goes to the man of God’s choosing.

History belongs to the intercessors. If we will be faithful to pray, we will write this next chapter of history — not only of the United States but also of the world.

Even people who don’t know the Lord know that the results of the 2020 election will impact every nation on earth. This is why believers who are not even US citizens have been fasting and praying and are receiving prophetic dreams like this one.

THE FATE OF THE JACKET
Luke Harding’s dream ended with him not knowing whether Biden took the jacket or not, and this is exactly where the world found itself on the morning of November 4. Thanks to reasons now being litigated in court, we woke up not knowing the outcome of the election.

This time of uncertainty has exposed the weakness of many people’s faith. Some have taken to blaming prophets and even God. Others are sulking more quietly but have disengaged from prayer. But the people whose faith, spiritual maturity, and prophetic discernment are strong are seeing this as an opportunity to pray.

As with all big needs, we must pray and keep on praying until we receive an answer. Until the outcome of the election is declared by the proper authorities, we must pray that the mantle of the US presidency goes to the man God has chosen.

THE PRICE OF THE JACKET
In the dream, Luke Harding tells Joe Biden, “You’re going to have to pay for it. This will cost.” When I heard this, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me that the jacket belongs to the one who is willing to pay the price for it.

President Trump has paid the price for the US presidency, literally and otherwise. Literally, he has donated his salary since taking office in January 2017, not to mention pouring millions of his own dollars into his campaigns, both in 2016 and this year.

And then there is the huge price the president has paid metaphorically. For instance, he has faced savage and relentless attacks from many quarters — including the media; the general public; witches, warlocks, and satanists; segments of his own party; and sadly even the church. His pro-life, pro-church, pro-Israel efforts have clearly not been good enough for these critical Christians.

Successful campaigns go a long way in winning elections, and President Trump has not failed in this regard. He has campaigned tirelessly for his second term, not even letting an attack of coronavirus stop him. As soon as he recovered, he jumped back into the campaign trail.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, has remained in his basement for the most part. He has made very few public appearances, and many of his speeches have been recorded from the comfort of his home. He wants the US presidency without paying the price for it.

Luke Harding’s video was published on November 7, but I came across it only this morning, November 11. The timing is significant, for today is Veterans Day, the day we honor those who are willing to pay a high price to serve the country. Thankfully, we still have a Commander-in-Chief who is leading by example.
